PLEASE DO NOT STEAL.
(it hurts my feelings)

+Message me if you have any requests, commissions, questions, love letters or anything of the sort. I do a lot of work online as well so even if you live far away, it shouldn't be much of a problem depending on how large and complex the project is.

+To those who have supported and followed me, thank you so much. I know it sounds impersonal, but really, it means a lot.

Just another friendly reminder! [at a time that I KNOW you’re there. I see you scrollin.]

HELLO! i’m shifting blogs from collarbonezart.tumblr.com to mmelchangg.tumblr.com

Collarbonez so far has served as a sort of documentation from my freshman year of highschool and onward to my senior year. It’s kind of cool to see my juvenile art from when I was 14 grow into something that people would actually pay for and call “professional.”

However, this new blog serves for more professional purposes. I will still have progress shots and sketches here once in a while, but I want this new blog to be more of a grand portfolio of my work from now through at least college for those who may want to hire me in the future and want to see my creative process or for clients who want to see the quality of my work.

Thank you so much to everyone who has followed me so far on Collarbonez. I really appreciate all the support and love that i’ve received here. I may post the occasional silly fan sketch here and there on collarbonez but seeing as I hardly have time for such things these days, most of my future work will be posted on mmelchangg. :)

If you’re interested in keeping up with me please follow me at mmelchangg.tumblr.com.

Again, I’d really appreciate your support, as I have for the past couple of years.

That said, here is the first piece of mmelchangg.

Enjoy!

Love,

Melanie.

mmelchangg:

I am still applying to colleges at the moment. Parsons’ application states that every applicant must take on the following prompt in any medium or media: Explore something usually overlooked within your daily environment. Choose one object, location, or activity.

Activity: loving someone

Concept: All the little things that people do and think because they love us whether we know it or not. Or even whether they know it or not.

Title: If I can’t have you, can you ask whoever can to take pictures?

RISD Graphic Design Final: Business cards that correlate with the posters
super saturating RISD Pre-college Graphic Design final
sometimes when i get anxious i draw things that look like 90’s cartoons from my childhood to make me feel better. because…you know. childhood. its nice to think about. that said, i ended up liking this one and intend to use this for the next venue poster. happy days!
Final artist portrait for AOTA, a pretty swell kid and insanely skilled dubstep artist from seattle.

standard starbucks napkin vs. 4+ year old wacom bamboo tablet vs. new intuos 5. My family is the cats pajamas. Also keep in mind, the entire tablet’s interface spans between my laptop and my monitor. That means when I’d work on my old tablet, i’d be painting on a surface area that is less than half the size of a starbucks napkin. This is quite nice. *sips coffee, strokes domesticated pet lion.*

 rowgun reblogged your photostep 2

Please tell me you’re applying to art colleges. and if not, why not?

Actually, I am! In fact, although two of the schools i’m applying to aren’t specifically art colleges, I’m still applying to their art departments. I’m hoping to go into Industrial Design to move beyond what I’ve taught myself/learned from different academies during my high school years, though.
